Monitoring in multiple pregnancies is conducted on a different schedule than in singleton pregnancies. In the early months, it is determined whether the babies develop in separate sacs or share a placenta; this distinction directly affects the frequency of monitoring. The babies' growth, fluid levels, and blood flow are regularly evaluated through comparative ultrasounds. Closer monitoring is required for risks such as preterm birth, gestational diabetes, and anemia. The timing and method of delivery are planned as the pregnancy progresses, based on the babies' positions and the structure of the placenta.
