About Dual Screening Test and Genetic Screening in Pregnancy
The double screening test produces a risk ratio by evaluating the nuchal translucency measurement taken between the eleventh and fourteenth weeks together with two values from the mother's blood. This test does not provide a diagnosis; it only indicates whether further examination is necessary. If the risk is found to be high, advanced genetic screening or invasive tests from the mother's blood may be considered; the scope and limitations of all these are explained during the consultation. Undergoing the test is optional, and the decision belongs to the family after being informed. The results are interpreted together with ultrasound findings, maternal age, and medical history.
