The biggest source of fear of childbirth is often the unknown. During childbirth preparation consultations, detailed explanations are given about how labor begins, when to go to the hospital, the stages of labor, and pain management techniques. Breathing exercises, movement and position recommendations, and how the partner can participate in the process are discussed together. The goal is not to impose a childbirth method but to enable the expectant mother to make an informed decision by knowing her options. Every birth is unique; preparation is not a promise of how the process will unfold but a roadmap.
