About Pregnancy Test and Initial Pregnancy Examination
Although a positive result from a home urine test is encouraging, it alone does not provide sufficient information. During the initial examination, blood tests and ultrasound are used to assess whether the pregnancy is implanted inside the uterus, determine the gestational age, and check if the fetal heartbeat has started. This distinction is important because urgent conditions such as ectopic pregnancy can be identified early. During the consultation, folic acid use, nutrition, and precautions to be taken during the first trimester are also discussed. The timing of the evaluation is planned according to your last menstrual period.
