About Laparoscopic Ectopic Pregnancy Surgery
Surgical treatment for ectopic pregnancy is preferred in cases where medication is not suitable, hormone levels remain high, or there are signs of bleeding. In the laparoscopic approach, the pregnancy tissue in the fallopian tube is removed; if the condition of the tube allows, efforts are made to preserve it, but if the damage is severe, removal of the tube may be necessary. The decision is made based on findings during surgery, and all possibilities are clearly explained before the operation. Removal of one tube does not mean that future pregnancy is impossible; if the other tube is healthy, pregnancy can occur. After surgery, hormone levels are monitored to ensure they decrease, and recommendations are provided for planning the next pregnancy.
