About Epidural During Delivery (Pain-Free Birth)
Epidural analgesia aims to reduce labor pain through medications administered via a thin catheter placed in the lower back. The procedure is performed by an anesthesia specialist; the mother remains awake, and the pushing reflex is usually preserved. This method helps many pregnant women manage contractions more comfortably, but the use of blood thinners, clotting disorders, or certain conditions in the lower back may prevent its application. Complete elimination of pain cannot be guaranteed; the effect varies from person to person.
